Explore the teachings and gifts of educational, symbolic play of Friedrich Froebel, father of kindergarten. When Froebel established his Universal German Educational Institute (later renamed Kindergarten) in 1817, his goal was to develop methods and prepared environments for educating creative beings through the use of specific materials — a set of wooden blocks now known as Froebel gifts, an educational foundation to principles of design, mathematical concepts, physics and more. Participants will learn ways to engage elementary children with dyslexia and other learning differences. The focus on their visual-spatial strengths combined with discovery and multisensory instruction leads to engaging, memorable and motivating learning. This training is a wonderful opportunity for any elementary school educator who wants to enhance creativity and incorporate design and nature into the learning environment.
