Gretchen and Jeanine, the Founders of Fundamental Learning Center, had no other choice but to do the work themselves. Their kiddos were struggling and nobody could help them.

There were anxiety attacks, tummy-ache calls from the nurse, and a lot of frustration and saddess.

After years of back-and-forth, it was clear was the only option was to do it themselves. Jeanine spent six years spending three weeks in Dallas, three weeks in Wichita so she could get the best possible training for her son, Cooper.
She didn't want any other parent to feel the way she did for so long - all kids deserve to get the help they need. So, in 2000 Fundamental Learning Center was created and the impact began.

THIS PROJECT HAS NOW BEEN FULLY FUNDED!

Exciting news! We've been awarded funds by the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission (KCAIC) via the National Endowment for the Arts to create an extraordinary art installation at the new PFLC campus. And a generous donor has already awarded us the amount needed for the matching funds requirement.
Join us in celebrating the brilliance of dyslexic minds and the transformative power of art!
With the Rolph Literacy Academy Transforming Education through Mosaic Sculptures project, our dyslexic students will craft beautiful mosaic patterns out of tile and beads with local artist, Kate Pepper. These patterns will be displayed on twenty sturdy posts, varying in height from 8-12 feet, in the butterfly garden near the entrance of our new building. We will also incorporate succulents, solar spotlights, plants and flowers, and mosaic stepping stones to create a stunning, inviting area for our students and guests to appreciate the beauty of art and nature for decades to come.

This will create an atmosphere that delights and inspires our guests as they arrive for the Grand Opening in October 2023.

It will make a lasting impact on the lives of our dyslexic students, empowering them to showcase their abilities, build confidence, and foster a sense of belonging within our community.

Thank you for your continued support and belief in the power of education. We're grateful for each and every one of you!
