About Fundamental Learning Center

“All Children Reading…All Children Succeeding”

Fundamental Learning Center is a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit located in Wichita, KS that addresses academic survival and dyslexia. This organization is the only teaching facility accredited in the Midwest focused on the continuum of transferring spoken language to the art of reading, writing and spelling.

We are a group of dedicated individuals that believe children are entitled to receive therapeutic and academic support in order to reach their full potential. We believe that children have the right to learn how to read. In ensuring this, we hire Literacy Intervention Specialists that have been trained by Fundamental Learning Center to teach children how to read, write and spell.

In 2014 we opened an all day intervention school, Rolph Literacy Academy (RLA). We teach students ages 5-10 with our research based method of teaching, Alphabetic Phonics. This program breaks down the English language to where a student with dyslexia can learn each letter sound and begin to start blending words, thus teaching them how to read. Each student receives 90 minutes of literacy intervention per day. Including literacy, RLA has a full curriculum that includes math, science, social studies, art, music, physical education, drama, technology and froebel.

We identify reading challenges

We provide individualized, research-based assessments for children. These note literacy “red flags” for specific learning difficulties to better understand the areas in which your child may be having particular concerns.

Parent Support Group

We untangle dyslexia

We offer programs that not only provide early literacy intervention for dyslexics, also build their confidence by focusing on their innate strengths and gifts in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
