Assessments
Everyday, Fundamental Learning Center receives numerous phone calls from parents who are desperately searching to find answers to help their children. These children are bright intelligent children who are frustrated, reluctant to go to school, often with headaches or stomach aches. Students frequently ask themselves, “What’s wrong with me?” with parents asking “What can I do?”
If you think that your child is having difficulties learning to read, it is important to act fast. The key to success with dyslexia or poor literacy skills is early and appropriate intervention.
Children ages 5 to 18 years old receive individualized research-based assessments that note literacy “red flags” for a Specific Learning Difficulties/Difference. These are not “diagnosis” but indicators of the areas in which your child may be having particular concerns.
Following the assessment, a specialized therapist meets with the parents to go over the results in detail, allowing for discussion, questions, and joint educational planning for the child.
