Additude online magazine offers many helpful suggestions on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Whether you are the one with the symptoms or a loved one. This website can offer organizational suggestions as well as treatment options…not all of them medication based.
Academic Language Therapy Association
The ALTA (Academic Language Therapy Association ~ A National Certifying Organization) website offers all of the information regarding a national professional member organization. ALTA also offers a national Find-A-Therapist, for both certified and in-training professionals.
Children of the Code is a wonderful resource that offers a multitude of video interviews with all of the top specialists in the area of reading or learning to read this amazing code that we call the English Language.

International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC)
IMSLEC is the national organization that accredits training courses for the professional preparation of multisensory structured language education specialists. Fundamental Learning Center is accredited by IMSLEC.
Kansas-Missouri Branch of International Dyslexia Association
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals with dsylexia, their families and the communities that support them. We can provide referrals for diagnosis, treatment, tutoring and schooling, as well as, information on assistive technologies and emerging educational and medical research. By joining the International Dyslexia Association, you are automatically a member of your local branch.
Kildonan School: Summer Program
Dunnabeck at Kildonan, the oldest residential program of its kind, was established in 1955 to meet the needs in a camp setting of intelligent children who are underachieving or failing in their academic work because of dyslexia or language based learning differences.Dunnabeck at Kildonan provides the necessary kinds of teaching to students who return from their summer of intensive work to find successes in school, often for the first time. The camp’s outdoor setting, informal atmosphere, and varied recreational program enables students to work hard without feeling that they are being deprived of a summer.
While Kurzweil Educational Systems, Inc. was founded in 1996, the roots of the company extend back to 1976 and the introduction of the world’s first reading system, the Kurzweil Reading Machine. Today, the company is recognized as the leading developer of reading technology for people with learning difficulties and those who are blind or visually impaired.
National Center for Learning Disabilities
Since many of our students are dyslexic, dysgraphic, or have other learning disabilities, it is wise to have access to a great resource like National Center for Learning Disabilities. NCLD not only provides a great source for the latest research, however, it also provides informational articles such as “Effects of Learning Disabilities on a Family and Marriage”.
The research that we have available to us today is because of the data that was driven from the National Reading Panel Report to Congress in 2000. This information is readily available to the public and very insightful! Both the 33 page document as well as the 480 page document are available.
Reading Rockets is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. Reading Rockets is a national multimedia project that offers research-based and best-practice information on teaching kids to read and helping those who struggle.
Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic
Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic® (RFB&D) works with leading publishers and technology innovators to bring accessible materials to individuals with visual and learning disabilities.
Available in every grade level and most subjects, RFB&D textbook and literature titles are used nationwide. Pete and Pam Wright are Adjunct Professors of Law at the William and Mary Law School where they teach a course about special education law and advocacy and assist with the Law School’s Special Education Law Clinic.
